The high-waisted cut covers the most: it sits above the hip bone and across the stomach. The v-cut sits lower and is cheekier at the back, and the string bottom is the briefest, adjusting with ties.
The high-waisted and v-cut bottoms are double-layered. The string bottom is a single layer by design — that is what keeps it light and quick to dry.
Most prints run across both tops and bottoms, so a matching pair is usually there — and because the pieces are sold separately, you can mismatch two prints on purpose instead.
